How to Take a Passport Photo at Home
- Stand 30-50 cm in front of a plain white or light wall
- Ask someone to shoot from about 1.5 metres, at eye level
- Face the light, like a window, so there are no shadows
- Look straight at the camera, mouth closed, both ears level
- No glasses, no cap, hair away from the eyes
- Do not use beauty mode, filters or a selfie
How to Print Passport Size Photos
At a photo shop (best quality)
- Download the 4×6 sheet (JPG or PDF)
- Ask for a 4×6 (4R) glossy print
- Cut along the light grey lines: you get 8 photos
At home on A4
- Download the A4 PDF
- Print at 100% / Actual size, not "Fit to page"
- Use photo paper for a proper finish
Check one photo with a ruler: it should be exactly 35 mm wide.
